But back in the \u003cstrong\u003e1970s\u003c\/strong\u003e, this little hamlet \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eproduced more Whisky than anyplace else in Scotland\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. Well, that’s no longer true, but their Highland Single Malt is still a core component of many of the finest blends, including two of their own: \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAntiquary and Talisman\u003c\/strong\u003e. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\n \u003cbr\u003e\nToday, Tomatin is owned by mega-corp \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTakara Shuzo \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003efrom Japan, where demand for their products is huge. But they stab off a select amount of their production for their own signature Single Malt Whisky line across a range of ages and special editions.\u003cbr\u003e\n \u003cbr\u003e\nSmooth and sweet, finished in Tawny Port casks, \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eThe Tomatin 14YO \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eis just not fair… not fair we say! It is just \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTOO good\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. This is a powerful, \u003cstrong\u003e46%\u003c\/strong\u003e ABV bottle of Highland Single Malt \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eperfection\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. All the elements are there… matured in a combination of Bourbon barrels and Tawny Port pipes which previously held port for around \u003cstrong\u003e50 years\u003c\/strong\u003e. I mean, what else do you need to know, right?\u003cbr\u003e\n \u003cbr\u003e\nTomatin always does a good job, but this one just speaks to us. \u003cstrong\u003eIt’s also multi-award winning\u003c\/strong\u003e, reflecting its exceptional quality. It tastes like they have been making it for generations, but the 14YO Port Cask was only added to their core lineup a few years ago. But \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eit’s a keeper\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. And it fits right in with The Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban, The Macallan, and The Balvenie Double Wood — so if you like those, you should like the Tomatin too.
