But Jura has long had its namesake Whisky — ever since the\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e Jura Distillery\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e was founded in \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e1810\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. The facility fell into a bit of disrepair in the early part of the 1900s but was resurrected again by\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e Robin Fletcher \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003eand \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTony Riley-Smith \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003ein \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e1963\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. Things have gone well since then and Jura is now a highly respected Single Malt once again with fans around the world who crave their hybrid island\/lowland style.\u003c\/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cu\u003eI\u003c\/u\u003esle of Jura Red Wine Cask\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e is part of their Cask Edition series which shows you the magic that can be done with different wood finishes. This particular dram is different from their usual bottlings. It was first aged in \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eAmerican oak ex-Bourbon barrels \u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003ebefore it’s finished in \u003cem\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ered Wine casks\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/em\u003e. It’s fruity, it’s rich, and it’s fabulously full-bodied with berries, creamy vanilla, and cinnamon, spice.
